Press Release Summary: New spa hotel in Chile\'s Atacama desert combines rugged
adventure with sublime spa treatments

desert, is using local volcanic muds, desert herbs and lithium rich salts for its
massages, wraps and body scrubs and guests are even encouraged to cycle to a salt
encrusted water hole and float under the clear desert skies in the highly buoyant
water.

The hotel and spa is set amid volcanoes and salt flats, overlooked by snow-capped
mountains. Volcanic muds for massages and wraps are sourced from high in the
adjacent mountains, desert herbs are gathered locally and grown in the grounds of
the hotel spa, lithium salts for body scrubs are harvested from the extensive,
surrounding salt flats.

Example treatments are:-
Atacama Stone facial:
A 4-stage facial relaxation treatment to hydrate and refresh the skin, starting with
a deep cleansing, then an application of crystal and gems to balance and harmonise
the body and mind, a volcanic stone facial using hot and cold stones, finally a
revitalizing herbal mask.
Desert Ritual;
A body wrap, personalized bath and body massage with volcanic stones to harmonise
body and mind, awaken the senses and beautify the skin.

cleansing herbs, including focus and spirulina, to exfoliate and cleanse the skin,
followed by a relaxing bath with natural Melissa and lavanda infusions.

The ritual finishes with a hot and cold volcanic stone massage with natural almond
oil to feed and hydrate the skin.

As well as treatments tailored to the local environment, in the landscaped grounds
areas have been designated for relaxation, including day beds scattered around with
shady awnings, a platform for star gazing and meditation and terraces with fire pits
for cool desert nights.
